🎬 Premise

When a new AI-driven healthcare initiative is introduced under Trump’s administration, it’s marketed as the future of efficiency. But for one underserved neighborhood, it’s just the latest in a long line of systems that decide they don’t matter.

Each episode takes place in a different hyper-local setting — a barbershop, church basement, laundromat, community radio station, clinic, bodega — with overlapping characters navigating the fallout.

It’s a slow burn, full of sharp dialogue, unexpected vulnerability, and the raw tension between faith in tech and faith in each other.

🧍🏽Core Characters (interconnected across episodes):

  • RAY (60s): The grizzled but respected neighborhood philosopher. Doesn’t trust “the system” in any form. Witty. Deep roots.
  • DANTE (30s): Freelance coder, burned out activist, wants to believe tech can be redeemed — if it’s torn apart first.
  • MAYA (20s): Fresh intern, believes in AI and policy reform, learning the limits of optimism.
  • GLORIA (50s): Church administrator, caregiver, sees the emotional toll policy has on her community.
  • TONY (40s): Ex-con turned street organizer, tech illiterate but emotionally sharp.
  • NIA (Teens): Ray’s granddaughter. Digital native. Always live-streaming, posting, observing.
  • THE SYSTEM (Voiceover AI): Cold, polite, always “here to help.” Voice changes subtly over time.

📻 Sample Episodes:

  1. “When Your Government Decides You Don’t Deserve Care” — Barbershop. Maya collects stories. Ray and Dante challenge her assumptions.
  2. “The Queue” — A laundromat becomes an unofficial health triage center. Gloria helps interpret the AI’s decisions for confused neighbors.
  3. “404: Urgency Not Found” — A mother struggles to get help for her child. The AI keeps saying, “Symptoms do not meet emergency threshold.”
  4. “The Clinic That Wasn’t There” — Nia investigates rumors that their local health center is being replaced with a chatbot kiosk.
  5. “Data Doesn’t Heal” — Dante tries to manipulate the AI using code — and discovers a horrifying training bias.
  6. “Algorithm of Grief” — Tony mourns someone who slipped through the cracks. He confronts Maya in a community town hall.

🎧 Optional Features:

  • Realistic soundscapes (barbershop buzz, city traffic, church echoes)
  • Intercutting “The System’s” voice with real-time drama
  • Snippets of livestreams, radio shows, or social media reactions
