🎬 Premise
When a new AI-driven healthcare initiative is introduced under Trump’s administration, it’s marketed as the future of efficiency. But for one underserved neighborhood, it’s just the latest in a long line of systems that decide they don’t matter.
Each episode takes place in a different hyper-local setting — a barbershop, church basement, laundromat, community radio station, clinic, bodega — with overlapping characters navigating the fallout.
It’s a slow burn, full of sharp dialogue, unexpected vulnerability, and the raw tension between faith in tech and faith in each other.
🧍🏽Core Characters (interconnected across episodes):
- RAY (60s): The grizzled but respected neighborhood philosopher. Doesn’t trust “the system” in any form. Witty. Deep roots.
- DANTE (30s): Freelance coder, burned out activist, wants to believe tech can be redeemed — if it’s torn apart first.
- MAYA (20s): Fresh intern, believes in AI and policy reform, learning the limits of optimism.
- GLORIA (50s): Church administrator, caregiver, sees the emotional toll policy has on her community.
- TONY (40s): Ex-con turned street organizer, tech illiterate but emotionally sharp.
- NIA (Teens): Ray’s granddaughter. Digital native. Always live-streaming, posting, observing.
- THE SYSTEM (Voiceover AI): Cold, polite, always “here to help.” Voice changes subtly over time.

- “The Clinic That Wasn’t There” — Nia investigates rumors that their local health center is being replaced with a chatbot kiosk.
- “Data Doesn’t Heal” — Dante tries to manipulate the AI using code — and discovers a horrifying training bias.
